At Preteen Journey, we equip ministries, families, and preteens through four key partnerships that work together to strengthen discipleship in every environment: coaching, content, communication, and consulting. Each partnership is designed to support the church and the home, giving leaders and families practical tools to guide preteens toward a life aligned with Christ. In addition to these partnerships, the PJ App serves as a simple, accessible tool for ministry leaders, parents, and preteens—putting age-specific discipleship content at their fingertips anywhere they go and as they go(Deuteronomy 6). Whether you’re preparing a lesson, discipling at home, or encouraging preteens to grow on their own, the app makes intentional spiritual formation both doable and sustainable.
Check out our first resource on the app—our Holiday Advent Guide. We’re just getting started, and new resources are on the way.

Personalized, customized guidance for growth and discipleship
We walk alongside ministry leaders, parents, and volunteers—helping them lead with clarity, navigate real-world challenges, and grow in confidence. Through one-on-one coaching, customized coaching plans, team development, and practical tools, we empower those shaping the next generation to lead with purpose and spiritual depth.

Age-specific, gospel-centered resources for faith formation.
We create intentional resources—devotionals, curriculum, podcasts, and more—that speak directly to the unique world of preteens. Every piece is rooted in Scripture, mindful of where preteens are physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and designed to equip families, ministries, and preteens themselves to grow in discipleship with confidence and joy.

Trainings, camps, and conferences that inspire transformation.
We serve as communicators in environments where preteens and adults gather to learn and grow—bringing biblical truth to life through meaningful storytelling, interactive experiences, and Christ-centered teaching. We create helpful, impactful moments that inspire others to be passionate about preteen discipleship and guide preteens toward a life aligned with Christ

Strategic support for building and strengthening preteen ministry
We partner with churches and organizations that are eager to launch, evaluate, and elevate preteen ministry. From clarifying vision and shaping discipleship strategies to structuring programs and equipping teams, we help ministries create sustainable, on-point environments where preteens feel safe, build trust, and grow in a deeper relationship with Christ.
Discipleship as you go. Preteens, parents, and leaders can access intentional, age-specific content anytime, anywhere. Start with our Holiday Advent Guide—more resources coming soon!

Hi Preteens and Families!
I can’t tell you how many Christmas seasons I’ve blinked, and suddenly Christmas morning was here. One year I remember walking into church on Christmas Eve and thinking, “Oh my… December flew by, and I didn’t prepare my heart well for tonight.” I felt overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure
of what I was actually filled with, emotionally.
Another year, I was very sick, and all my usual family plans and holiday traditions were completely different from what I expected. And then there was the first Christmas without a close loved one, when celebrating felt both meaningful and heavy.
Maybe you’ve had moments like these too—alongside all the good memories and fun traditions. What I’ve learned is this: no matter what story God writes for my holiday season, I want my heart to be focused, softened, and ready for His plan—not just my own.
In recent years, my family has loved slowing down and remembering Christ through the tradition of Advent. Advent can look a little different for everyone, but really, it’s about creating space to pause, to worship, and to wait with anticipation for celebrating Jesus’ birth. We use candles or
creative symbols to remind us that Jesus came to be the Light of the World. Along the way, we play, reflect, dive into Scripture, and prepare our hearts together for Christmas Day.
A Few Suggestions as You Begin:
• Pick a cozy place to gather—your living room, kitchen table, or even the car on a drive.
• Keep it simple. Just a few minutes can set the tone for your whole week.
• Add soft music, warm blankets, or hot cocoa to help you settle in.
• And if your family can’t always do it together, preteens—you can even do this on your own.
My prayer is that these next few weeks will help you slow down and prepare your heart for Jesus. Whether you’re listening as a family or on your own, I hope you find moments of provision, hope, peace, joy, love, faith, and strength as we walk toward the manger together—with great anticipation—to celebrate the Light of the World.
